If you received hospital services from a Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) hospital while you were uninsured, you could get a discount, refund, or other benefits from a Class Action Settlement.

You are not being sued. This Settlement provides discounts, refunds, and other benefits, when applicable, to uninsured patients of the Catholic Healthcare West hospitals listed in the chart below (the “Catholic Healthcare West hospitals”). You qualify if you:

  • Received Hospital Services from a Catholic Healthcare West hospital (click here for a list of hospitals) during the period from July 1, 2001 to September 25, 2006; and
  • Were uninsured at the time of treatment; and
  • Had $250,000 or less in gross annual household income in the calendar year in which you received hospital services; and
  • Return a completed claim form, click here to print a notice, and click here to print a claim form.

The appeal of the class action settlement filed by plaintiffs in Estupinian v. Catholic Healthcare West et al., a separate lawsuit on similar topics, was resolved on February 15, 2008. The filing of the appeal by the Estupinian plaintiffs postponed resolution of the issues in this case. Refund determination letters, per the Settlement Agreement, will be mailed by April 15, 2008.  Please contact the Settlement Administrator if you have any updates to your address.

Se ha producido una apelación a la conciliación de la demanda colectiva presentada por los demandantes en el juicio de Estupinián v. Catholic Healthcare West et al., un litigio con temas similares. La presentación de la apelación por parte de los demandantes Estupinián pospone la resolución de los asuntos de este caso.
